We Expect an Increase in Non-Oil Revenues to Cover 25% of Next Year’s Budget

The financial advisor to the prime minister, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, expected yesterday, Tuesday, that the country’s non-oil revenues will increase to reach 25 percent of next year’s budget, based on the decisions of the meeting of the Council of Entities not affiliated with the Ministry.

In a statement followed by Al-Sabah Al-Jadid, Saleh said that adhering to the decisions of the first session of the meeting of the Council of Entities not associated with a Ministry, will double the revenues of the border crossings from the import trade.

He added that non-oil revenues are still between 6-7% of the total budget revenues, but this government approach will make it rise by at least 25%, on top of which are the federal taxes and fees that are properly collected and according to the progress of the electronic estimation, inventory and estimation systems of imported goods, which It will be approved by the border ports and their customs agencies.
