Agriculture: Marketing of 5000 Tons of Wheat Crop in Babylon

The Ministry of Agriculture announced on Thursday the marketing of more than 5000 tons of wheat crop in the province of Babylon to the stores of the Ministry of Commerce since the beginning of the current agricultural season until now.

The ministry said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that “the Directorate of Agriculture Babylon was able to market 5000 tons of wheat crop, including 4,500 tons of rice variety of jasmine and 517 tons of rice variety of amber.”

She pointed out that “the areas harvested from the crop stalks so far amounted to 8000 dunums of the total agricultural plan implemented amounting to 10700 dunums and the continuation of the harvest for the rest of the cultivated area for marketing.”

She added, “Marketing operations for the crop and for the various varieties cultivated in the province continues and through the marketing outlets prepared for receipt,” calling on farmers and farmers to “accelerate the marketing of their crop.”

The Ministry of Agriculture announced on November 28, 2019, that it seeks to include amber rice in the ration card, indicating that it has expanded the cultivated area of ​​the crop to 650 thousand acres.
